The main melodic line is calm and stretching, worked out tightly. In the beginning of the track the emphasis is on deep chords of synthesizers. Bass line is not overloaded, but keeps the rhythmic basis. It sounds elastic, gives off a light analog texture, which is always nice. It gives the composition an organic feel.
Percussion is minimalistic and neat, it gradually builds groove. This works for the dynamics without taking you into excessive “clubbing”. You can hear a good understanding of space in the mix here.
WhoMadeWho’s vocal parts are woven in naturally. A slight detachment enhances the melancholic mood of the track. Vocal processing makes it soft, fits into the mix, but does not lose expressiveness.
The main thing is the progression of the melody. It develops slowly and confidently. In the second part of the remix there are additional layers: wide pads, arpeggios and spectacular transitions. It gives epicness and emotional rise. Sequences work as they should – smoothly and without sudden jumps.
Mixing is flawless. The frequencies are clearly separated: the bottom is not pressed, the middle is readable, the top is not ringing. The sound remains “airy” but saturated. You can clearly hear the character of the style – deep, smooth pulsation and romantic sadness.
