Voice from afar

Titled “Lisan Al Gaib”, the title of the track is a direct reference to Frank Herbert’s iconic novel “Dune” and its film adaptations. In the world of “Dune”, “Lisan Al Gaib” translates to “Voice from afar” or “Seer”, symbolizing a messianic figure upon whom the hopes of the locals are placed. This connection to “Dune” reinforces the atmosphere of the track, where a symbiosis of antiquity and futurism is felt. It is also reflected in the musical palette: organic African rhythms are combined with synthesizer textures, creating the impression of a soundscape that seems to come from a distant, unexplored future.

Lizwi

Perhaps Lizwi’s vocals are the key element. Her powerful voice blends harmoniously into the overall mix. It doesn’t take up too much space, which is typical of Afrohouse production. Here the voice works as an instrument. It finds the balance between the rhythm and melody, not dragging the attention on itself, but also not getting lost in the general flow.

This track is obviously designed for dancefloors, and its structure fully corresponds to it. The production is clean, without overdubs. This allows each element to sound in its place, while maintaining the balance between rhythm and melody.

All in all, “Lisan Al Gaib” is a worthy example of a Tribal/Afro House track, where traditional African elements and modern electronic textures are intertwined.
